1. The actual weight ( actual weight)
The actual weight is the weight obtained from the weighing. Normally in Indonesia using kilograms ( kg) .
While doing the weighing of goods, usually heavy goods often imprecise shows integers. For example, 4.3 kg, or 12.7 Kg. When this happens, usually the expedition made up of heavy goods up. Suppose 4.3 kg rounded to 5 kg.
2. Volume Weight ( Volumetric Weight)
Volume weight is the weight obtained from the calculation by using the size of the volume of goods to be shipped. This calculation is based on the actual weight of goods a condition where small ( light) but it takes place ( large volume) .
The formula used for land shipping is:
o length ( cm) x width ( cm) x Height ( cm) : 4000.
o For example, goods with a length of 100 cm, 100 cm wide and 100 cm high, it has a volumetric weight: 100 X 100 X 100/ 4000 = 250 Kg.
The formula used for domestic freight forwarding via air are:
o length ( cm) x width ( cm) x Height ( cm) : 6.000.
o For example, goods with a length of 100 cm, 100 cm wide and 100 cm high, it has a volumetric weight: 100 X 100 X 100 / 6, 000 = 166.66 kg or 167 kg.
The formula used for domestic shipments by sea are:
o length ( cm) x width ( cm) x Height ( cm) : 1, 000, 000 = M3 ( cubication)
o For example, goods with a length of 100 cm, 100 cm wide and 100 cm high, it has a volumetric weight: 1000X 1000 X 1000 / 1, 000, 000 = 1 M3 or 1 Kubik
